Our good friend Ben Steers (he who designed the brilliant Boneshaker Tee), has teamed up with Young Bristol to create a great festive project that is not only creative, but for a great cause. From the look of last years cards, there will be some great bespoke designs that would be great to send to friends, or even frame as a gift…!

20 UK based artists and illustrators have contributed works to create a very limited run of Christmas card packs.  Featuring 20 exclusive Christmas card designs from some of the UK’s finest artists and illustrators.  Artists involved in Collection 2 include Robert Del Naja (3D of Massive Attack), Rob Ryan, Simon Spilsbury, Chris Malbon, Wayne Harris and a whole host of other talented artists. All profits from the sale of the cards will benefit Young Bristol’s work with young people across the city.

Track or Treat – Brother Cycles Halloween Ride

From our good friends at Brother Cycles, sounds like a heap of fun to us:

“We’re so excited to finally announce this as it’s been on the drawing board for a while. Brother Cycles and the 5th Floor have teamed up to bring you a Halloween to remember – if you’ve already got plans, cancel them, this will be epic.

We’ll be meeting in Trafalgar Square for Midnight on Saturday 30th October and cycling into the night, finishing on Brighton Pier just in time for an early breakfast… or beer.

Landscape Magazine and Knog have kindly provided some prizes for the best Halloween costume – which we’ll hand out in Trafalgar Square.

We’ll be announcing the route in a week or so after a couple of test runs so check in for more updates.”

Monkey Madness with Paul Frank

Never ones to shy away from some bike based monkey business, we are enjoying some ‘gorilla’ (ha ha – get it??) promotional tactics by the peeps at Paul Frank.

In celebration of the Bicycle Film Festival (13th-17th October) at the Barbican Centre this week, the cheeky little Paul Frank monkey, Julius, has been cycling around London spreading seat covers for all those Londoners who love to cycle, but don’t love a wet bum! With 5,000 covers going around London in the next three days, get on your bike and we hope you get one!

We are sure to try and get hold of one when we visit London this Thursday to take down the show artwork at Look Mum No Hands.

New online to stockist in France

We are very pleased to announce as our online stockist in France. Not just an acronym, but a rallying call for urban cycling citizenship, XÜ proposes an European online store enabling the purchase of cycles and accessories in an “ecologically” responsible manner. We are chuffed that they want to respresent Boneshaker in France and also in Europe too.
